What The Tooth Fairy
Does With All the Teeth
We often get contacted
by parents who want to know what Tooth Fairy does with all the teeth
and indeed, if you have been surfing the net, you will find that there
are an awful lot of answers to this question. Consequently, we
have written this short article about what we know on the subject.
(If you want to find out more in the form of letters from the Tooth
Fairy herself, you may want to consider joining our club.)
The
Tooth Fairy is basically the builder of Fairyland. Small and dainty
she may be, but she spends a good deal of her time up to her armpits
in bricks and cement.
One of the favourite places for all fairies
to live is in bright, white houses on the tops of clouds. There
are two reasons for this, one is that it is much sunnier up there above
all the rain and the other is that they can’t be seen by grown-ups looking
up from the ground. However, in order to camouflage their houses
further, there are very strict planning laws which govern the cloud-top
buildings of fairy folk. In a nutshell, all houses must be as white as the clouds
they are sitting upon. This is where the Tooth Fairy steps in.
She collects all the strong, white teeth from children so that she can
use them to build these fairy homes.
The
squarish teeth from the back of the mouth are used as bricks to build
the walls, while the flat ones from the front of the mouth are used
as slates for the roofs. The Tooth Fairy is always on the
lookout for more teeth because there are always new fairy houses to
be built. It’s very important for children to brush their teeth
regularly so that their teeth stay strong and the houses that the Tooth
Fairy builds stay standing.
She
herself lives up on top of a cloud as well, along with her many helpers.
They have a very large, magical house called “Minty Mist Mansion”,
which again is entirely built out of children’s teeth. On one
side of her house, she has built an observatory with a very special
telescope that she points down through gaps in the clouds to see what
is going on down below. Children should be reminded that the Tooth
Fairy may be watching them any time they are out and about and should
they see a little flash or a sparkle in the sky it could well be the
glass in her telescope catching the sunlight, in which case they could
give her a little wave!
